PROCLAMATION.
Whereas under Proclamation dated 28th February, 1855, certain Powers were unduly delegated to the Emigration Officer at this Port, it is hereby declared that the Proclamation aforesaid shall be, and the same is, annulled from this date; and that with respect to Passengers, being Chinese or persons accustomed to Chinese diet, the supply of Provisions and Medicines for Passenger Ships shall in future be as follows:---
PROVISIONS.
Rice, 1 tb Fish, 3 imp. qts. Salt Provisions, Wholly Pork; or Pork and Fish; or Pork, Beef, and Salted Vegetables or Pickles, 2 lb 15 oz. Water, 3 imp. qts. Firewood, 2 lb Tea, 12 ozMEDICINES, &c.,
For every 100 Passengers, and in like proportion for any greater or less number, Calomel, 3 oz. Blue Pill, 2 oz. Rhubarb Powder. 2 oz. Compound Jalap Powder, 1 oz. Ipecacuauha Powder, 12 drams. Opium, 2 oz. Dover's Powder, 17 drams. Magnesia, 2 oz. Epsom Salts, 6 oz. Chloride of Lime, 20 oz. Tartar Emetic, 4 drams. Quinine, 2 oz. Antimonial Powder, 1 oz. Extract of Colocynth Compound, 1 oz. Carbonate of Ammonia, 1 oz. Assafoetida, 1 oz. Camphor, 1 oz. Camphorated Liniment, 16 oz. Catechu, 2 oz. Prepared Chalk, 15 oz. Tincture of Opium, 4 oz. Turpentine, 8 oz. Senna Leaves, 1 lb Blistering Plaister, 2 yards. Sulphur Sublimed, 16 oz. Sulphur Ointment, 16 oz. Linseed Flour, 2 oz. Country Soap, 2 oz. Castor Oil, 4 oz. phial Oil of Peppermint, 4 drams. Adhesive Plaister Spread, 4 oz. Simple Ointment, 16 oz. Ringworm Ointment, 2 oz. Jeremie's Opiate, 2 oz. Aromatic Spirit of Hartshorn, 4 oz. Cholera Pills in Phial, 6 bottles. Cubebs Powder, 2 oz. Sweet Spirits of Nitre, 4 oz. Copaiba, 4 oz. Sulphate of Copper, 4 drams. Sulphate of Zinc, 4 drams. Lunar Caustic, 2 pieces. Prepared Lint, Cloth for Bandages,CO10074/53
